Most people considering therapy aren’t sure where to begin. That’s okay. Individual therapy is a place to work through your concerns one-on-one—with someone who listens, understands, and helps you move forward.

We understand how hard it is to reach out for help. But once you do, something begins to shift. There is a way through this—and we’re here to help you find it.
At Ponte Vedra Psychologists, we offer cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a treatment option for people suffering from anxiety, depression, stress, anger, and other emotional-behavioral challenges.
Ponte Vedra Psychologist Dr. Greg Garamoni practices the well-researched form of CBT developed by psychiatrist Aaron Beck, MD at the University of Pennsylvania, known as Cognitive Therapy (CT).
Beck's Cognitive Therapy has received the most scientific support in the history of psychotherapy.
A Personal Note from Dr. Garamoni:
I had the honor of being invited by Dr. Beck to deliver a lecture with my colleague, Dr. Robert M. Schwartz, on our 'States of Mind Model' at the University of Pennsylvania. An illness prevented us from giving this lecture, but we had the opportunity to join Dr. Beck for lunch at his home and discuss our theory. I was flattered by his interest in our research and impressed by his knowledge of the whole field of psychotherapy. As a lifelong student of philosophy, I also admired his grasp of the philosophical underpinnings of the science of psychology.
Dr. Garamoni has been practicing Beck's Cognitive Therapy in private practice here in Ponte Vedra Beach for over 30 years.
Before moving here, Dr. Garamoni completed an advanced training program in Cognitive Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Cognitive Therapy Clinic. This training was designed to ensure that therapists were sufficiently skilled to provide the quality of Cognitive Therapy required to research its effectiveness. Meeting these rigorous standards, Dr. Garamoni was selected to be a therapist on the team delivering this treatment to patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder. Appointed the Project Manager for this study, he led the team and co-authored 10 peer-reviewed articles on cognitive therapy and depression.
Since Ponte Vedra Psychologists often use CBT as a primary treatment for emotional, behavioral, and relationship issues, we've created an FAQs section on the Individual Therapy page to answer questions you may have about CBT.
Every relationship hits rough patches—but some struggles linger longer than they should. In couples therapy, we help you and your partner talk through what’s not working and begin to reconnect.
Couples therapy is a central focus of my work—making up nearly two-thirds of my practice. And quite often, I begin this process with just one partner in the room, helping them explore their concerns and develop new ways of relating from the inside out.
When the topic of sexual intimacy arises—as it naturally does in many relationships—I bring additional training and experience as a sex therapist. Clients often tell me they’re relieved to work with someone who’s genuinely comfortable addressing sensitive topics in a thoughtful, respectful way.
We work with couples dealing with communication breakdowns, emotional distance, intimacy challenges, trust issues, conflict cycles, or just a sense that something’s missing.

Your relationship deserves care, attention, and a chance to grow. Let’s work on it—together.
Many individuals and couples struggle with intimacy issues, but feel too embarrassed to seek help. At Ponte Vedra Psychologists, we offer professional, evidence-based sex therapy in a setting that’s safe, respectful, and never judgmental.
We address a wide range of concerns, including low desire, arousal difficulties, painful sex, performance anxiety, and problems with orgasm or satisfaction.

You’re not broken. There’s nothing to be ashamed of. And yes—there are ways forward.
Sometimes the people we care about most are also the ones we struggle with the most. Family therapy offers a space to understand each other better, break unhelpful patterns, and build healthier ways of relating.
We work with parent-child issues, sibling conflict, blended family stress, school-related tensions, life transitions, and more.

You don’t have to have all the answers—just a willingness to take the first step.
When there are questions about a child’s learning, an adult’s memory, or what’s really going on emotionally, psychological testing can bring clarity.
We provide comprehensive assessments for ADHD, giftedness, learning disorders, developmental concerns, emotional difficulties, and more—across the lifespan.
We’re proud to have provided gifted IQ testing to hundreds of students over the years, and we’ve truly enjoyed engaging with these bright young minds and supporting their families with meaningful insight and guidance.

Good decisions start with good information. We’re here to help you find both.
Sometimes you’re not in crisis—you’re just stuck. Life coaching helps you move forward, gain clarity, and align your actions with your values.
We work with clients on decision-making, communication, self-confidence, transitions, purpose, career paths, work-life balance, burnout, and more.
With past experience in corporate HR at companies like Citibank, GTE Sylvania, and PepsiCo, I’m especially comfortable working with executives and their families as they navigate high-stakes careers and complex personal lives. My time at PepsiCo International also gave me a deep appreciation for working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
And with a longstanding background in philosophy, I particularly enjoy helping people explore the bigger picture—clarifying values, setting intentions, and shaping a life that feels genuinely meaningful.
